Studio Overview
Based in Leeds Central Library, Studio12 is for young people age 16-30 living in Leeds.
We’re open Tuesday – Friday 1pm until 5pm
The space houses a fully equipped studio with a wide range of industry standard multimedia, video, photography, music equipment and software packages. People accessing Studio12 are encouraged and supported to explore non-traditional routes into the creative industry and create avenues into work. Members have opportunities to work towards attaining an accredited qualification and developing bespoke portfolios of work in line with the latest industry developments.
Studio12 provides FREE access to a visual and audio production studio for 16 – 30 year olds living in Leeds
MUSIC
Professional music software and hardware to produce electronic music is available. There is a sound booth for recording vocals which can be booked by Studio12 members. Plenty of keyboards available.
Software: Studio12 runs a range of music software to produce including Abelton Live, Logic, Cubase, Reason and FL Studio with NI Komplete Plugins.
PHOTOGRAPHY
A professional photography studio is available, which is free for members and groups.
Software: Editing photos can be completed in Adobe Photoshop and Light Room.
Access to: Canon and Nikon cameras in addition to studio lighting and backdrops.
FILM
Studio12 hosts a wide range of cinematic film equipment, providing young people with access to production equipment, training and support for film projects. A professional film studio is available, which is free for members and groups. We have access to Blackmagic cine cameras, canon and Panasonic digital cameras. We have a range of lighting and sound recording equipment.
Software:
Adobe Premiere CC editing, colour-grading with DaVinci Resolve, After Effects for post production, C4D for 3d work, Apple Logic X, Izotope, PluralEyes for sound production.
DESIGN
Studio12 hosts a number of industry software packages and hardware to produce designs for your media applications.
Software:
The full Adobe CC software in addition to scanners and drawing tablets are available to produce designs. We have large format printers, laser printers and 3D printers available to members.
Business Support
Studio12 has a number of ways to support your own business including access to software, hardware and the Library’s Business and IP Centre – a one stop for all your business needs.
